QUALITY FOUNDATION DAY CARE & EDUCATIONAL CENTER

A Project of Foundation Ministries, Inc.

June 5, 2012

Dear Friends,

It has been a year since we last saw each other. The Seminary and Foundation Ministries/ Quality Foundation Day Care & Educational Center keep me busy but I always find the time to remember you in my devotions. Thanks for being my friends and staying in touch by phone and emails. I’m coming back to the U.S. on June 14th with a list of things for which we can praise God. You, your prayers, encouragement and support are on that long list; you have helped to make God’s word alive for our kids and their parents across religious and social boundaries.

Quality Foundation is about ½ completed. The roof, windows and doors have been installed, and we have our own secure building. We dug a well but we need to move the water from the well into the house. That requires two pumps, one to get the water out of the well into a reservoir, and another to pump it from the reservoir into the house. In order for the pumps to work, we need a 6KVA Diesel Generator.

Our plan for the next academic year beginning in August is to introduce computer literacy. So we need a generator, not only for the pumps, but to supply the electricity we need to power the computers. This will allow us to use the internet to download educational programs while at the same time teaching the kids the basics. We also need 165 arm chairs so that the kids have their own desks to help them improve their writing skills. So often, conveniences and comforts that we take for granted in the U.S. are lost here, not the least of which is an incredible frustration when we need dependable electricity and internet speed. Thank God, there is a plan by the phone companies and Liberia’s government to introduce Broad Band service to improve internet capacity.

Allow me to be very bold. For two years now, we have tried to get a truck or a jeep. So far, it hasn’t happened--but we really need one sooner than later. The kids need to be transported; I travel over rough and unpaved roads; public transportation is not available in the rural area where we are located; and walking long distances is wearing on my aging body. Clearly, a truck will help us to use time efficiently and be more effective in this ministry. A friend of mine who works with “Service to Servants,” a U.S. based global ministry group that ships things for ministry to Liberia has assured me that when I get the truck, he will ship it to Liberia for me. Please join me in my prayer that we can make this happen this year.

It will be a great joy to be back in the U.S. again, to see my family, the grandkids, reconnect with relatives and friends and be in Matilda’s wedding (daughter) mid August. And I am so eager to see and talk with you when I come. Blessings to all!
